We Are Called
The Heritage week and National Catholic Sisters week digital exhibit celebrates the journey of a group of women who, motivated by the struggles of humanity and the desire to alleviate those struggles, came together guided by the Spirit, to make a difference in the world. The journey of the Sisters of St. Joseph began over 350 years ago in Le Puy, France, and continues today to be marked by the reoccurring themes of Prayer, Piety, and Protest.
The timeline in the Prayer section of the exhibit pays homage to the history of the Sisters of St. Joseph by illustrating their religious devotion from the inception of the congregation to present. Throughout their history, the themes of Piety and Protest are exemplified by the Sisters’ works of charity towards the Dear Neighbor and their willingness to stand in solidarity to defend the rights of the oppressed.
The Blunt-Newman Collection
Welcome to The Blunt-Newman Collection digital exhibit. Beginning in 1935 and continuing over a period of years, Monsignor Hughe Francis Blunt donated a rich and extensive collection of materials related to (the now sainted) Cardinal John Henry Newman to Regis College. The collection of books and writings was aggregated by Monsignor Blunt over the course of his life and is a testament to his interest and passion for the work of the Cardinal.
